Spiderwick Chronicles Cake

It was a last minute decision to make Logan's birthday cake according to a Spiderwick Chronicles theme, so I kind of ran out of time for all my ideas. But here it is. Butter-vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. The house is made out of chocolate cookie dough. The recipe worked pretty good since it did not run during baking.

Red Velvet Wedding

When my friend Christie got married, she wanted a red velvet cake. And since the wedding was held in the Chinese Room of the Smith Tower she wanted an Asian inspired design. So we settled for a three layer square cake (12", 8", 4") with white cream cheese frosting and red and violet royal icing flowers.

Roses

When Lisa turned 50, she wanted a carrot cake with white frosting and flowers. Since there would be children at the party, Lisa was concerned with crisco flowers. We decided on royal icing for the flowers. which turned out pretty cute.

Aquarium Cake

One of my coworkers wanted a cake for her niece, who turned 2 years old. Since the little girl likes fishes, we decided on an Aquarium cake. The inside is a funfetti cake with cream cheese frosting. I realized later, that transport might be difficult and the next version will have to have a wider base.

More Tie-Dye Cakes

The last cake had so much response, that here is another version. These are three different cakes ordered for a 40th Wedding anniversary. We had chocolate, butter and carrot cake. And just to let everyone know, I can pipe other numbers than 40; you don't have to wait until 40 to get it!

Guess how Old?

This cake was for a "round birthday for a friend of mine. I thought 60s and tie-dye went well together. It was a fabulous lemon pound cake with lemon cream cheese frosting.
